Six members of Lewes Rowing Club travelled to Waldshut -Tiengen in July as guests of the Wassersport Verein Waldshut, the town’s rowing club. The red carpet was well and truly rolled out for us with barbecues, breakfasts and lunches all prepared by members of the club and of course the chance to row on the mighty Rhine River. We were very impressed with their architect designed clubhouse with its gym and storage for 40 boats.
We visited over the weekend of the Schwyzertag festival and were honoured to be included in some of the formal and not so formal events. We hope very much to be able to return the wonderful hospitality we received next year by inviting a group from WVW to take part in our head of the Ouse race in September. Until then many thanks to Angelika, Martina, Christian and everyone else who made our visit so memorable.
